Bastille Day is celebrated in France on July 14th of every year. Just 10 days after we celebrate our Independence Day, the French have their Fête Nationale (National Celebration). It’s curious that they also call it by the date like we do: le quatorze juillet.
What are you doing to recognize a day when the French, like the earliest American Patriots, rose up and took a big step towards freedom?
Drink a little wine? Eat a little cheese? It’s been 220 years since the storming of the Bastille. I plan to celebrate with a decent bottle of wine and my favorite brie. Have a good one!
